Rochelle Jolley is a Scottish artist and hair stylist, currently based in Glasgow, Scotland. A 2009 graduate of The Glasgow School of Art with a 1:1 in Fine Art Studies, Rochelle trained as a hair stylist soon after and has worked with an international client base; covering editorial, catwalk, commercial and bridal shoots as well as private appointments.
Her fashion editorial work has been shown in a variety of UK and international publications most noteably in; Vogue Italia, Girls on Film, Zuem Magazine, Syn Online, TEETH Magazine, InBloom Magazine and Sicky Magazine.
As well as print editorial coverage, Rochelle travels to London and New York regularly to assist on fashion shoots and catwalk shows. She assisted renowned hair stylist David Cruz at New York Fashion Week 2014, working on shows such as Adam Lippes, Valentina Kova, Fashion Pallet and K.Nicole.
While based in Scotland, Rochelle has helped design and construct wigs for the Scottish Opera, including a 2014 production of Puccini's 'Madame Butterfly'. Rochelle has also constructed wigs for short fashion films for the Berlin Film Festival.
In working with hair in both fashion editiorial and for catwalk, as well as theatrical productions, Rochelle's undertanding of the creative potential of hair is that of an extension of the human form. Whether hair is closely sculpted to the body, shaped outwards into imaginative styles or more simply as a beautiful part of a client's everyday life, Rochelle's unique take on hair and its possibilities make her a forward-thinking and considered artist.
